Nutrition and Balanced Diet Training for Mothers and Adolescent Girls

  • 31st Mar, 2026

Group of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal in partnership with Bread for the World, Germany through the LIFT project organised a community-based Nutrition and Balanced Diet Training bringing together mothers and adolescent girls to strengthen their understanding of health and nutrition. The training covered six key thematic areas — balanced diets, macronutrients, micronutrients, proper sanitation, the causes and prevention of anemia, and the impact of junk food on long-term health — equipping participants with practical knowledge they can apply daily within their households and communities. Recognizing that women and adolescent girls bear a disproportionate burden of malnutrition and diet-related illness, this initiative was designed to address nutritional knowledge gaps at the grassroots level, with the understanding that an informed mother and an empowered adolescent girl are among the most powerful drivers of lasting community health.
